Throughout the third quarter, Axle Logistics continued finding meaningful ways to give back and connect with the communities around us. We’re proud to highlight our monthly Community Spotlight partners, the important work they do, and how our team supported their missions. Here’s a look at each month’s highlights and how the experience impacted the Axle team.
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley helps young people reach their full potential through education, mentorship, and personal development. Through after-school and summer programs focused on academic success, leadership, healthy lifestyles, and career readiness, the organization gives children and teens a supportive environment.

Beyond providing a safe place to learn and grow, Boys & Girls Clubs plays an important role in strengthening communities across East Tennessee. Its programs help young people build meaningful relationships, discover new interests, and develop skills that prepare them for future opportunities.
Axle’s summer interns volunteered at the Summer Kickoff Party, helping serve lunch and celebrate the start of summer. The experience let our interns connect with the community while supporting an organization committed to helping the next generation succeed.
Sarah Wilhoit, Senior Corporate Trainer at Axle Logistics, joined our summer interns for the event.
“Being part of the Summer Kickoff Party was such a rewarding experience, especially getting to share it with our summer interns. It was a great opportunity to spend time with the kids, see the work Boys & Girls Clubs does in our community, and be part of something that brings people together. Experiences like this remind me how important it is to get involved and how even a little of our time can make a meaningful difference."
Wesley House Community Center plays an important role in supporting Knoxville’s Mechanicsville, Lonsdale, and Beaumont communities. Through educational programs, youth development, family resources, and senior services, the organization gives individuals and families opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.
Located just around the corner from Axle’s headquarters, the organization is a valued neighbor, and our team had multiple opportunities to support its mission throughout the quarter.
In August, Team Axle welcomed middle school students from Wesley House to HQ2 for a behind-the-scenes look at our workplace. Throughout their visit, students explored and connected with team members. Introducing students to professional environments early can broaden their understanding of career opportunities and encourage them to think about their futures.

Savannah Coe, Logistics Consultant, helped welcome the students to HQ2 and shared a glimpse of her experience working at Axle.
“Having the Wesley House students visit Axle was a really special experience. It was exciting to welcome them into our workplace and give them a chance to see what we do every day. "
Our involvement with Wesley House continued with a volunteer day at the Red Bird Community Store, a valuable resource that provides food, clothing, and household essentials to local families. Team Axle supported the store’s efforts while gaining a closer look at how Wesley House addresses everyday needs in the surrounding community.
Hailey Schoenberger, Development Coordinator, volunteered at the Red Bird Community Store.
“I got to see another side of the work Wesley House does for our community. It’s easy to overlook how much of a difference access to everyday necessities can make for a family. Contributing to that mission, even in a small way, was incredibly rewarding. It’s especially meaningful knowing that an organization making this kind of impact is located right down the street from Axle.”
Survivor Fitness is a Knoxville-based nonprofit that helps individuals affected by cancer rebuild their strength, confidence, and quality of life after treatment. While completing treatment is an important milestone, many survivors continue to experience physical and emotional challenges throughout recovery. Survivor Fitness helps bridge that gap by providing personalized fitness and wellness programs designed to support long-term health and well-being.
Through individualized personal training, nutritional guidance, and mental health support, the organization helps survivors regain physical strength, rebuild confidence, and reconnect with the activities they enjoy.

In September, Team Axle recognized Survivor Fitness as our Community Spotlight and supported its mission through the Survivor Soirée, an event that brought the community together to celebrate cancer survivors and support the organization’s continued work.
Tony Perfetto and Sam Coffin represented Team Axle at the Survivor Soirée, joining community members and supporters for an evening celebrating cancer survivors and the organization’s impact.
For Tony, a particularly meaningful moment was hearing Jennifer share her personal experience and how Survivor Fitness helped her regain her strength after treatment.
“I’m proud to be part of Team Axle because of its commitment to supporting great causes like Survivor Fitness. This year, we heard a moving testimonial from Jennifer about how Survivor Fitness helped her get back on her feet and regain her strength. It was especially meaningful to share the evening with my colleagues while contributing to an organization making such a positive impact in the Knoxville community.”
Sam also reflected on the evening, highlighting the community's generosity and the importance of supporting survivors beyond treatment.
“The Survivor Soirée is my favorite fundraising event of the year because of the incredible community it supports. Survivor Fitness is an admirable organization that makes a meaningful difference for cancer survivors throughout their journey after treatment. The evening was filled with great food, record-breaking donations, and an amazing group of people coming together for an important cause.”
For Lyndsay Nelson, getting involved in Axle Impact began as a chance to connect with colleagues and the surrounding community. What started as a way to build relationships has grown into something even more meaningful.

Through volunteering, Lyndsay has experienced firsthand the value of giving back and the connections that come from supporting others. Her perspective reflects what Axle Impact is all about: creating opportunities for our team to get involved, build relationships, and contribute to something bigger than themselves.
" I started volunteering as a way to connect more with my community and colleagues, but it's grown into something much more meaningful. It has reminded me how rewarding it is to give back and make an impact.”
Behind every Axle Impact initiative are the team members and community partners who make it possible. Thank you to everyone who dedicated their time, supported local organizations, and helped make a difference throughout the third quarter.
As we look ahead, we’re excited to continue strengthening our community partnerships and finding meaningful ways to give back.
