The Risk Analyst assists in Axle’s Risk Management Department to audit coverage issues, track and manage policy renewals, process and investigate reported incidents, cargo claims and/or information that is required prior to a claim being submitted to the carrier or responsive insurer. The Risk Analyst works closely with the Legal Department, Claims Department, Risk Management, the Accounting team, and communicates with carriers, insurance companies and customers.
Responsibilities:
- Assists Risk and Claim teams in the identification of exposures and recommends solutions.
- Develops and manages tracking tools for reported and self-administered claims.
- Assists Claims Coordinator in processing assigned incidents and claims from notice to filing to resolution efficiently, accurately, and within time standards. Coordinate with carrier safety departments for information related to reported incidents. Coordinate shipment recovery efforts with carrier teams and customer contacts, while balancing Axle’s risk priorities.
- Communicates and builds strong relationships with insurance carriers, customers, and key vendors.
- Ensures the most appropriate and cost effective resolution of all claims is reached and that a high level of customer service is attained.
- Maintains a strong understanding of industry regulations for claims liability and Axle’s and carriers’ insurance policies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience.
- Four or more years of experience in claims required.
- Demonstrated familiarity with and understanding of insurance coverage.
- Understanding of relevant laws and regulations as well as related legal terminology.
