A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A LOGISTICS CONSULTANT
As a Logistics Consultant, you are involved in sales, customer service, and the management of your customer’s freight needs. You collaborate with carrier partners and shippers alike, overseeing the full lifecycle of every shipment in your given book of business. By providing first-in-class customer service, you develop long-term relationships with customers. You manage the movement of your clients’ goods, ensuring that they are picked up, transported safely, and delivered on time according to the client’s expectations. You function as the liaison between clients, carriers, shippers, and receivers.
In order to maintain market competitive pricing, you conduct contract negotiations. You collaborate with team members on pricing strategies and problem-solving. To build a portfolio of clients, you perform a high volume of “cold-calling.” Staying up to date on market conditions and technology through internal and external training is an essential component to your success. You feel great about helping other companies find success through the management of their supply chain. And, seeing your efforts pay off in your paycheck gives you a great sense of accomplishment!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A LOGISTICS CONSULTANT
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or 4+ Yrs of Sales Experience
- Strong professional communication skills
- Ability to travel to meet with potential and existing clients as needed
- Proven customer service skills
- Sales-driven and self-motivated
- Willingness to work well within a team
- Ability to work in person at designated Axle location
One year of prior sales experience is preferred but multiple factors will be taken into consideration. Operational experience within the 3PL/logistics field would be a plus!

Night Dispatch (Capacity Sourcing Analyst)

What’s the opportunity?
If you are looking to be an intricate part of a growing Inc.5000 organization, this is just the position for you. As a Night Distpatch, you will be responsible to coordinate all processes and functions of shipment planning and freight movement. You will be helping our customers move their inventory in the most cost-effective way by identifying and providing logistics solutions as well as providing visibility to management and clients in the form of tracking & tracing, auditing, researching, and troubleshooting all operational issues.
What does the position require?
- Maintain and grow solid relationships with current carrier partners
- Manage relationships with dedicated carriers for Axle’s enterprise accounts
- Ensure clients expectations are being met and exceeded
- Display a best-in-class mentality ensuring carrier coverage and execution of account SOPs
- Utilization of industry leading technology to provide data and visibility
- Manage the movement of client’s goods, ensuring that they are picked up, transported, and delivered on time to the client’s satisfaction
- Continuously have up to date market knowledge to determine and negotiate pricing to clients and carriers successfully
Shift Details:
We will be working a rotating schedule of 4 days one week and 3 days the next so two weeks at a glance below:
- Week 1: Wednesday-Saturday 5p-5a
- Week 2: Thursday – Saturday 5p-5a
